چکیده
This study was designed to evaluate the effects of Jatropha gossypifolia flower extract on some selected biochemical indices in albino rats. Experimental design involves twenty (20) rats which were divided into four groups five animals each. Group I received distilled water (vehicle), group II, III and IV (50, 100 200mg/kg bwt) respectively for a period 14-day. The anaesthetized 24hrs after last administration sacrificed accordingly. Animal serum collected determination as well assessment probable effect rat hematological parameters. Results obtained from assay indicated significant (P<0.05) decrease activity aspartate amino transferase (AST), alanine (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) bilirubin treated with vivo when compared control. However, appreciable increase levels total protein albumin observed results this investigation also revealed concentration-dependent parameters Hence, it could be inferred that enhance positive modulatory status

Biochemical and Histopathological Effects of Acute Exposure to Vinyl Acetate Monomer Vapour in Wistar Rats
Background: Vinyl acetate monomer is a commodity chemical widely used in the manufacturing of various products. The chemical is hazardous and exposure to it may occur in both occupational and non-occupational settings. The aim of this study was to characterize the effects of short-term exposure to Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) vapour on the liver and lungs of Wistar rats. Methods: Mice weighing ...
متن کاملExposure to difenoconazole, diclofop-methyl alone and combination alters oxidative stress and biochemical parameters in albino rats.
The herbicides diclofop-methyl and the fungicide difenoconazole are widely used in agriculture and may lead to serious toxicity risks. However, limited studies have been done to evaluate differences in the metabolic effects of these herbicides. Difenoconazole (10 mg/kg) and Diclofop-methyl (1 mg/kg) were orally administrated individually (Groups 1 and 2 respectively) as well as combined (G3) to...
متن کاملA minor coumarino-lignoid from Jatropha gossypifolia.
1. Subject and source Jatropha gossypifolia Linn. (Euporbiaceae) is a small shrub which grows widely in India. The plant has been used ethnomedically for the treatment of cancerous growths (Hartwell, 1969). The whole plant was collected from the campus in September 1997. A voucher specimen of the plant material (IICP-2048) is preserved in the herbarium of the Indian Institute of Chemical Techno...

OBJECTIVE To investigate the wound-healing properties of crude bark extract of Jatropha curcas Linn in Wistar albino rats. METHODS This work was carried out in the Department of Biochemistry, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka, India, in the year 2005. We divided the animals into 3 groups of 12 each. Group I was saline control without wound, grou...
متن کاملEffects of dietary exposure to aflatoxins on some plasma biochemical indices of common carp (Cyprinus carpio)
Aflatoxins are a group of secondary fungal metabolites that occur widely in natural contaminants of many feeds under high humidity and temperature, and are potentially dangerous to fish. Therefore, this study was designed to investigate the effects of aflatoxins on some plasma biochemical indices, as clinical biomarkers, in common carp, Cyprinus carpio. Fish were fed diets contaminated with 0 (...
